We express our condolences to the families and friends of those who have lost loved ones, following the earthquakes that have struck Japan.

The European Union stands in full solidarity with the Japanese people and authorities.

Our thoughts also go to the first responders who are tirelessly working to save lives.

Japan has always proven to be a resilient country after facing natural disasters.

We are ready to offer any support needed to the authorities at this time of need.
