Presidents Tusk, Juncker to visit Japan for 23rd EU-Japan Summit

European Council President Donald Tusk and European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker will visit Japan to attend the 23rd summit between the European Union (EU) and Japan, to be held in Tokyo on 29 May. It will be their first visit to Japan in their current capacities.

The summit will be an opportunity for wide-ranging discussions with Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, including exchanges of views on regional and international challenges as well as bilateral issues.

Federica Mogherini, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and European Commission Vice-President, and European Trade Commissioner Cecilia Malmström will also take part in the summit.
