Phone call between HRVP Federica Mogherini and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov

Federica Mogherini, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy/Vice-President of the European Commission, held a phone call today with the Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation, Sergei Lavrov.

They discussed the importance of full implementation of the Minsk agreements. Federica Mogherini said: "The Minsk agreements must be fully implemented. In this context, it is vital that the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission gets the access it needs. The EU is providing substantial support to the mission and we are looking at ways of how to strengthen it, so that the mission can deliver."

The situation in Libya and the Iran nuclear negotiations were also discussed during the call.
