Head of Delegation presents credentials to the Emperor

Viorel Isticioaia-Budura, head of the Delegation of the European Union to Japan, submitted his credentials as the EU's ambassador to Japan to the Emperor at the Imperial Palace today.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Isticioaia-Budura arrived in Tokyo at the end of October. A Romanian national, he was Managing Director, Head of Asia and the Pacific Department, in the EU's diplomatic service, the European External Action Service (its diplomatic service). He is not a stranger to Japan, having served as Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of Romania from April 1992 to August 1996.
