EU and Japan to hold 6th round of SPA negotiations

EU News 438/2014

31 October 2014

The European Union (EU) and Japan will hold their sixth round of negotiations toward a Strategic Partnership Agreement in Tokyo on 5 and 6 November. The EU side will be headed by Julian Wilson, head of the Japan, Korea, Australia and New Zealand Division at the European External Action Service, while Keiichi Hara, director of the European Policy Division at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, will lead the Japanese side.

Leaders of the EU and Japan agreed in March 2013 to launch parallel negotiations toward an ambitious and comprehensive free trade agreement and a strategic partnership agreement that would provide a solid structure for political, global and sectoral cooperation.
