"Today we celebrate the Day of International Criminal Justice, which marks the sixteenth anniversary of the adoption of the Rome Statute, the founding treaty of the International Criminal Court.
No part of the world is immune from conflicts and violence. Children, men and women continue to fall victim to mass atrocities, too often committed with impunity. A tremendous amount of work remains to be done to eradicate such suffering and re-establish justice.
The Day of International Criminal Justice is an opportunity to pay tribute to the International Criminal Court, as well as to renew our efforts to promote global justice."
