Fifth round of EU-Japan Strategic Partnership Agreement negotiations ends

The European Union and Japan today concluded their fifth round of negotiations toward a bilateral Strategic Partnership Agreement, which were held in Tokyo from 23 June, 2014.
The EU side was led by Viorel Isticioaia-Budura, managing director for Asia and the Pacific at the EU's European External Action Service. The Japanese team was headed by Koichi Hasegawa, deputy director general of the European Affairs Bureau of the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The next round of negotiations is scheduled to take place in Brussels this autumn.
