In recent decades, international learning and research experience has become vital in planning and developing careers on all levels and areas, from students to researchers. The most brilliant careers often stem from periods spent abroad, complementing experience, skills and knowledge that could only be acquired in global settings. International masters, doctorates and/or post doctorates provide many valuable opportunities; they also bring fun and personal gain.

At this event, we have the great honour to welcome Mr Jan Truszczynski, Director-General of the Directorate General for Education and Culture (DG EAC) from Brussels, responsible for the well-known EU exchange and mobility programmes such as ERASMUS+ and the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions, to speak about new opportunities for exchange of students and researchers. These EU programmes also provide universities the opportunity to engage in partnerships to establish joint degrees and mobility schemes. Amongst other high level speakers, Professor Anders Karlsson, Vice President for Global Academic Relations at Elsevier will provide statistics to illustrate the importance of international experience in establishing academic careers. There will also be testimonies from Erasmus Mundus scholars and Marie Sklodowska-Curie Action research partners to share their first-hand experience in these programmes.

The seminar will be followed by a reception.
