Literary event held at the EU Delegation

On 22 April, a literary evening organised by the Tokyo International Literary Society (TILS) – a group that promotes literary exchanges between Japan and other countries through seminars, lectures and discussions – was held at the Schuman Auditorium at Europa House. TILS Chairman H.E. Dr Lars Vargö, Ambassador of Sweden, gave the opening address and introduced the guest speaker: Japanese author Keiichirô Hirano, who gave a presentation on "New Japanese Literature in the First Decade of the 21st Century". The approximately fifty guests attending the event enjoyed exchanging views with Mr Hirano and with each other at the buffet reception following the lecture.
