EU, Ukraine ambassadors to jointly meet the press

Against the backdrop of the recent events surrounding Ukraine, Hans Dietmar Schweisgut, ambassador of the European Union to Japan, and Ihor Kharchenko, ambassador of Ukraine to Japan, will hold a joint press briefing to underline the strong, cooperative relationship that exists between the EU and Ukraine, as symbolised by the signing of the political provisions of the Association Agreement between the two parties at the highest level in Brussels on 21 March.

Over the past weeks, the EU has discussed the situation in Ukraine both among foreign ministers and among heads of state. It has issued several statements, most recently together with its G7 partners after this week's meeting in The Hague.
