EU-Japan Summit to be held on 25 March in Tokyo

Leaders of the European Union and Japan will meet in Tokyo on Monday, 25 March, 2013 for the 21st EU-Japan Summit, where they will exchange views on a wide range of issues with a view to furthering the bilateral relationship on both the political and economic fronts.

The EU will be represented by European Council President Herman Van Rompuy and European Commission President José Manuel Barroso. European Trade Commissioner Karel de Gucht will also participate in the summit.

The EU is looking forward to this meeting, where leaders will discuss the launch of negotiations toward a bilateral political framework agreement as well as a free trade agreement.
