The EU Delegation to Japan announces 2013 calendar for EU Gateway Programme

The Delegation of the European Union to Japan today announced the 2013 calendar of the EU Gateway Programme, organised under the broader European Union strategy to further develop trade and investment with Japan.

Over 750 EU companies have taken part in the Programme since its inception in 2009, representing six industrial and design sectors. The Programme has offered European participants opportunities for new business collaborations as well as a better understanding of the Japanese market.

The business exhibitions have attracted over 9,500 Japanese visitors during the period 2009-2012, providing them with a platform to gain detailed information on the latest European products and technologies and to talk directly with the European representatives in their respective business fields.

The Programme aims to continue to encourage EU-Japan business collaboration.

In 2013, the Programme is scheduled to bring around 200 companies from five industrial and design sectors to Japan as follows:

About the EU Gateway Programme
The “EU Gateway Programme” is a programme funded and managed by the European Union to support EU companies in developing business cooperation with Japanese companies. The Programme’s aim is to introduce companies from the EU Member States to Japan and also to provide opportunities for Japanese companies to gain first-hand knowledge of successful products and technologies of EU companies, exchange information and engage in business discussions.
