EU News 332/2016

13/10/2016

It is with great sadness that we have learned of the passing of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej.

King Bhumibol was a well-loved and revered King and a key figure in Thailand's recent history. During his more than 70 years on the throne, King Bhumibol's rural development projects improved the lives of millions of people in Thailand.

His contributions touched the lives of many and will be remembered for many generations to come. King Bhumibol will be particularly remembered in Europe for his outstanding commitment to the promotion of sustainable development.

Permit us to convey our sincere condolences and sympathies to the Queen, to all members of the Royal Family and to the people of Thailand.
