European Higher Education Fair 2016 to be held on 11 and 12 June

EU News 198/2016

3 June 2016

The Delegation of the European Union (EU) to Japan, together with several other entities[1], will organise the 'European Higher Education Fair 2016' on 11-12 June in Kyoto and Tokyo. The fair aims to showcase some of the most interesting higher education programmes Europe has to offer. At the event, housing more than 60 booths, visitors will be able to speak directly with representatives from institutions in over 15 European countries. This year Kyoto City is on board as co-organiser for the first time, with the number of institutions participating in the Kyoto part of the fair reaching the highest ever.

At the fair, which will take place on 11 June at Campus Plaza in Kyoto and 12 June at Meiji University's Surugadai Campus in Tokyo, 36 higher education institutions and 22 embassies/official education promotion agencies will provide the latest information on their study programmes and courses. EU programmes open to students and researchers, such as Erasmus+ and those under the Horizon 2020 framework, will also be promoted. Seminars on the career benefits of studying abroad, scholarship opportunities, and alumni panel discussions will also be organised at both venues.

Europe is the global leader in providing study programmes for international students. The EU's 4,000 higher education institutions currently host 45% of the 4 million students who study outside their home countries each year. They are attracted by world-class curricula, teaching excellence and cultural diversity.
