EU leaders to participate in G7 Ise-Shima Summit

European Council President Donald Tusk and European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker will travel to Japan from 25 to 28 May to take part in the G7 Ise-Shima Summit under the Japanese presidency. The EU is a full member of the G7.

The leaders are expected to hold a pre-summit press briefing at 9h00 on 26 May.

The G7 summit is a forum that plays an important role in shaping global responses to global challenges. At Ise-Shima, the G7 leaders are expected to discuss coordinated action to tackle challenges such as global economic growth, the refugee crisis, terrorism and various foreign policy issues.
